Júlia Farrés-Llongueras exudes an authenticity and honesty that awaken a great power of seduction. She gets on stage safely thanks to a creative power that makes her a coloratura lyrical soprano of great solidity. Hers is a fresh voice with interpretations full of veracity which are very relevant on the national scene, and have a great impact abroad.

In 2021 she set off as an inseparable lyrical voice from the symphonic world with the Christmas concerts of the Waltz and Dance Festival of the Orquestra Simfònica del Vallès. In February, she opened the Joan Manén Year with a recital at the Palau de la Música, followed by the presentation of the ‘Esclat d’amor’ album. In March, at the Ateneu Barcelonès, Farrés-Llongueras offered all the intense musical work that she captured in the recording of essential songs by Manén, an author who, together with Gerhard, were also performed at the Cervera Festival. Thus she shows a clear commitment to the Catalan heritage which has been accentuated in recent projects. Farrés-Llongueras also excels in the oratory, and with Pergolesi’s Stabat Mater she set an end to Easter in Palma de Mallorca. After a stint on the national stage, the soprano will once again give concerts internationally starting in June. Some notable events will be the ‘Cel de Safir’ recital in the city of Bologna and the participation in the G.V. Einem in Oberdürnbach, Austria.

The Catalan soprano gets her formation with Mati Pinkas in Barcelona and she later perfects it with Renata Scotto at the Opera Studio of the Santa Cecilia Academy in Rome. In 2010 she won prizes in the Premio Internazionale di Santa Chiara (Naples) and Concours International de Belcanto Vincenzo Bellini (Paris). In the Opera genre she has played roles such as Poussette (Manon, J. Massenet), Stéphano (Roméo et Juliette Ch. Gounod), Erste Dame and Papagena (Die Zauberflöte, WA Mozart), Frasquita and Micaela (Carmen, G. Bizet ), Woglinde (Das Rheingold, R. Wagner - La Fura dels Baus), Amirah (La Princesa Árabe, JC Arriaga), Euridice (Orphée and Euridice, Ch.W.Glück), The Mother (Don Perlimplín, V. Egea) , Despina (Così fan tutte, WA Mozart), Inés (Il trovatore, G. Verdi) with Leo Nucci, and Isabella (Das Liebesverbot, R. Wagner - Bayreuth Festspiele). In 2020 she made her Italian debut in the role of Maria in Donna di veleni, by Marco Podda, at the Teatro Coccia in Novara. She has starred zarzuelas such as Bohemios (A.Vives), Cançó d’amor i de guerra (R. Martínez-Valls) and Katiuska (P. Sorozábal) in various Spanish theaters.

In the genre of the oratorio she has sung the Krönungsmesse KV.317 and Requiem KV.626 by W.A. Mozart, Stabat Mater by G.B. Pergolesi, Ein Deutsches Requiem by J. Brahms or G. Fauré’s Requiem, among others. The lieder activity takes an important place in her repertoire; she has been accompanied by pianists Robert Lehrbaumer, Stanislav Angelov and Husan Park in numerous venues in Spain, Germany, Finland and Italy. As well as interested in 20th and 21st centuries repertoire, she performs A. Webern, A. Schönberg, R. Schmidt, A. Charles or Í. Lesnik. She has participated in several international festivals such as the Paphos Aphrodite Festival in Cyprus, the Castell de Peralada International Festival and the LIFE Victoria in Barcelona.

As a soloist she has been accompanied by the OBC, Orquestra de la Coumunitat Valenciana (OCV), Orquesta de la Comunidad de Madrid (ORCAM), Orquestra del Gran Teatre del Liceu, Prague Philharmonic Orchestra, Berlin Kammerorchester, Rencontres Musicales de Puteaux, Orchestra Città di Ferrara, ONCA, Orquestra de Cadaqués, Orquesta Sinfónica de Navarra, Orquestra Simfònica Julià Carbonell de les Terres de Lleida or Grup instrumental de València, and has worked with conductors such as Josep Pons, Jordi Bernàcer, Pedro Halfter, Marco Guidarini, Roberto Rizzi -Brignoli, Fausto Nardi, Rubén Gimeno or Lothar Koenigs. Graham Vich and Oriol Broggi stand out in the stage and drama field.

She has made recordings for RNE, Catalunya Ràdio and Bayerische Rundfunk and presented the album ‘L'abril ha florit’ with pianist Daniel Blanch, works by Rafael Ferrer at the Palau de la Música Catalana, and ‘Esclat d'amor’ with David Alegret and Daniel Blanch with songs by Joan Manén, both under La mà de guido label.
