Júlia Farrés-Llongueras once again shines on stage after a period of reflection that has accompanied her professional activity over the past few months. During this time, she has dedicated herself to refining her vocal and interpretative skills, which has allowed her to strengthen the foundations of a repertoire that resonates with her quest for self-expression.
This meticulous work grants her the confidence and authenticity required to take on large-scale projects within the musical heritage, thus establishing a powerful connection with the audience. Her renewed stage presence radiates a sense of assurance that consolidates her as a solid soprano and a recognized voice on the national scene, with an ever-stronger presence on the international stage.
In recent months, Júlia has embarked on a musical journey filled with significant milestones. She had the honor of taking part in A. Caldara’s opera Atenaide, presented at the International Festival of Early and Baroque Music of Peñíscola, where her voice resonated in a space steeped in history. In addition, her tour with the Catalan Chamber Orchestra (OCC) was a tribute to Baroque music, featuring works by Domènech Terradellas. Bach’s Cantata 172 at the Berliner Dom opened new doors in her career, thanks to her commitment to music and her desire to explore new horizons abroad.
Last summer she presented two outstanding achievements: Schumann’s Myrten cycle, which consolidates her as a lieder singer, and a song and opera recital at the Cloister of Sant Cugat alongside pianist Stanislav Angelov, where she performed works by Gounod, Bellini, and Dvořák. This recital marks a step forward in a field she wishes to continue exploring.
In September, she began a new collaboration with guitarist José Luis Ruiz del Puerto, with whom she gave a recital at the International Pepe Romero Festival in Málaga. In this concert they delved into the repertoire of Lorenzo Palomo, as well as works by Joaquín Rodrigo, Tárrega, and Ernesto Cordero.
Looking ahead to the coming months, Júlia is preparing several exciting projects that reflect her artistic versatility. On July 15, she will take part in the Granada Guitar Festival Antonio Marín with an intimate recital alongside José Luis Ruiz del Puerto, where they will perform works by Rodrigo, Blanes, and Palomo.
This summer, Júlia Farrés-Llongueras will perform with the Catalan Chamber Orchestra on a tour with concerts in Tortosa, Cerdanya, and Tarragona, where she will interpret arias from W. A. Mozart’s emblematic operas: Die Zauberflöte, Le nozze di Figaro, and Così fan tutte. The program will be completed with orchestral works by Carles Baguer and Joseph Haydn, offering an immersion into the light and elegance of Classicism.
Finally, in autumn, she will take part in the Verona Guitar Festival and in the concert Un matí a l’òpera at L’Auditori de Barcelona, together with baritone Elías Arranz and under the baton of Rafa Agulló, with the Barcelona Municipal Band. This program will be an emotional journey through the Italian operatic repertoire of the 19th century, with works by Rossini, Puccini, Donizetti, Ponchielli, Bellini, Mascagni, Leoncavallo, and Verdi.
At this moment in her career, Júlia Farrés-Llongueras carries with her a musical heritage that celebrates the past while looking toward a future full of new possibilities.
